On January 27th, Goodwill Industries of Denver partnered with Denver School of the Arts (DSA) to host the first ever Good Exchange for Change clothing swap and a fashion show.

DSA Swap

Ensembles for the fashion show were put together by two aspiring fashion designers from the school. All of the fabulous items were purchased from Goodwill with an average price tag of under $10 per outfit.

Hundreds of parents, students and guests participated in the clothing swap. After all of the swapping was completed, untraded clothes were donated to Goodwill Industries of Denver. In total, with help of many students, Goodwill was able to collect 608 pounds of goods which in turn helps over 30,000 disabled individuals, struggling adults and at-risk youth create meaningful change in our community.

This partnership was initiated by the Environmental Club at the school. Members of the club are strong advocates for recycling and support Goodwill’s efforts in providing affordable goods while also helping to reuse clothing, shoes and other domestic items for a good cause.

Profits from the event benefited the DSA Environmental club and went towards reforestation efforts in Haiti.
