Goodwill Good Exchange Fashion Show & Clothing Swap
Emmy award-winning fashion guru Tim Gunn and Denver’s own Mondo Guerra co-hosted the 4th Annual Good Exchange Fashion Show & Clothing Swap on Feb. 6, 2014, at the EXDO Event Center in Denver.
Gunn, an emcee at the sold-out event, entertained guests with humorous behind-the-scenes stories about Project Runway.
More than 800 guests got a sneak peek at some of Denver’s up-and-coming young fashion designers during the fashion event, which featured designs by 14 students from Goodwill’s youth programs at local high schools. Each student was given $25 to purchase material at Goodwill to repurpose – or upcycle – into a look that drew inspiration from a particular iconic city across the globe. The student designers were mentored by Guerra, who began his career in fashion in Denver by transforming thrift-store items into his own designs.
Notable, fashionable Denverites also modeled clothing from Goodwill’s Déjà Blue Boutique.
The event concluded with a clothing swap where hundreds of guests exchanged clothing and accessories, while donating the overages to Goodwill.
