Goodwill Industries of Denver recently received an award from the International Special Events Society (ISES) Denver Chapter for its inaugural Good Exchange for Change Fashion Show and Clothing Swap event. ISES is the professional association for people in the special events planning industry. Goodwill Denver won in the category of “Best Corporate/Non Profit Event in 2011 in the Denver area with a budget under $50,000.”
The inaugural Good Exchange for Change Fashion Show and Clothing Swap in 2011 was a very exciting and unique experience. Over 600 tickets were purchased, making it a sold out event! Goodwill Denver teamed up with up and coming fashion designer, Mondo Guerra, a Denver native. The event kicked off with a fashion show with designs by students from Goodwill’s youth programs. An exclusive Mondo design was auctioned off, in addition to other amazing prizes. The event’s finale was a giant clothing swap! Guests who brought a donation of ten items or more could take ten items home. Proceeds from the event benefited Goodwill Denver’s youth services program.
Goodwill Denver is very proud to be the recipient of this award and is already excitedly planning the third Good Exchange for Change, which will be held in early February of 2013.
